A leading council is seeking an ambitious Technical Support Officer to assist in Highway Licensing Activities. You will manage applications and licensing data, ensuring accuracy and compliance while adhering to strict deadlines. We are seeking an ambitious, self-motivated Technical Support Officer to assist in the delivery of our Highway Licensing Activities.
The primary responsibility will be to process Greater Manchester Road Activity Permit Scheme (GMRAPS) applications and licenses accurately, ensuring all data related to Highway Permitting & Licensing is collected and recorded.
You will schedule works within defined priorities and adhere to strict deadlines set by the GMRAPS scheme and the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991.
You will check, process, and record all applications related to Highway Permitting and licensing.
Manage charges set by the Highway & Permitting team according to current fees, and oversee all processes related to highway income, ensuring all permit/license fees are paid.
Generate and record charges for fixed penalty notices, liaise with private contractors regarding permit applications, and escalate non-compliance issues with supporting evidence to the Senior Licensing Officer. The role may require covering for other team members as needed.
