Job Title: Technical Supervisor - Electrical Bias
Job objectives and responsibilities
- Manage resources and materials for the operation, installation, and maintenance of building engineering services to ensure an optimal working environment, meeting client requirements and contractual obligations. Manage 5 Shift Supervisors and 10 Shift Engineers in a Data Centre.
Main duties
- Support the Operations Manager in managing personnel, systems, and services to maintain 100% availability of critical facilities.
- Manage all direct reports and subcontracted resources to deliver quality service.
- Oversee planned preventative and reactive maintenance, ensuring timely completion, site security, and statutory compliance.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and compliance certificates for data systems.
- Handle client projects from quotation to completion, maintaining budget, quality, and compliance.
- Review and improve site operating and emergency procedures to reduce risks and enhance recovery.
- Provide support and guidance on operational switching of LV & HV Supplies.
- Offer technical support for project works and guidance to the site team.
- Deputise for the Operations Manager when required.
Person Specification
- Qualified to at least HNC level or equivalent in electrical or mechanical engineering.
- Minimum five years supervisory/management experience.
- Experience in electrical and mechanical engineering disciplines.
- Experience in HV & LV Switching Operations.
- Broad experience in building and engineering services.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to plan, coordinate, and manage work independently, demonstrating flexibility and resourcefulness.
- Knowledge of relevant Health & Safety legislation, British Standards, Codes of Practice, and Building Regulations.
