Job description

Join to apply for the Technical Supervisor role at CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS).

The role: Technical Supervisor

The purpose of the Technical Supervisor (TS) is to be responsible for the technical delivery of the contract across a defined cluster of BT sites, ensuring that technical compliance is achieved at all times. Safety is the primary consideration for all operations and must underpin all activities.

You will provide guidance to colleagues across the Cluster, including technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems to ensure safe, appropriate, and compliant solutions and efficient customer service delivery. You will respond rapidly to operational incidents and customer issues, supporting the Area Operations Manager (AOM) and Contract Support to deliver FM services. You will work closely with the BU Technical Services Manager (TSM).

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Promoting the safe delivery of all activities regardless of discipline, circumstance, and location.
  2. Ensuring compliance with Health, Safety, Environmental, Quality, and COSHH laws and regulations.
  3. Leading and managing the day-to-day supervision of FM colleagues, including managing absence and planning cover.
  4. Interfacing with TSMs and Technical SMEs for support, standards, and process alignment.
  5. Providing first point of escalation for maintenance colleagues, supporting recruitment, onboarding, training, and performance management.
  6. Undertaking the Control of Works Authorised Person (AP) role and supporting the identification of other APs and CPs in the cluster.
  7. Delivering and coordinating technical meetings and toolbox talks.
  8. Overseeing operations, maintenance, repairs, replacements, and general upkeep of facilities in line with contractual requirements.
  9. Conducting first-line investigations into building faults, isolating issues, and referring to relevant engineers or contractors.
  10. Delivering maintenance within the SI7 system according to BT specifications.
  11. Optimizing asset life and system performance while maintaining CAFM system data integrity.
  12. Consulting with CBRE SMEs for support on CAFM, Fire, Water, QHSE issues.
  13. Managing subcontractors and ensuring quality checks.
  14. Ensuring statutory compliance for maintenance works.
  15. Maintaining current and complete on-site documentation.
  16. Reviewing and updating asset data and managing warranties and defects.
  17. Reporting issues to the AOM.

Person Specification:

  • Knowledge in multiple disciplines (mechanical, electrical, public health, water, gas), with expertise in at least one, supported by trade or professional qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Teamwork and leadership abilities.
  • Planning, organizing, and executing skills.
