Job summary

Almac Pharma Services is seeking a Technical Specialist for Packaging Operations in Craigavon. The role focuses on delivering efficient, compliant, right-first-time packaging processes within a highly regulated environment.

You will support new product introductions, coordinate trials and validations, and produce GMP documentation. You will also act as the technical contact for packaging, equipment and serialization while working with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• This role requires experience executing technical activities or experiments with data interpretation and clear outcome summaries.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for precise documentation.
• Experience with GMP documentation and packaging processes is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Support new product introductions (NPI) and packaging changes by planning, testing and qualifying processes.
• Collaborate with Packaging Operations, Quality, Engineering, IT and Client Services to transition projects into routine production.
• Generate and review GMP documentation, including validation protocols, batch records and SOPs.
• Coordinate process trials, qualification and validation activities, analyse results and report outcomes.
• Serve as the technical contact for packaging processes, equipment and serialization, supporting client meetings and audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve process performance and support CAPA and change control.
• Train production teams on new or amended packaging processes.

The Opportunity

Almac Pharma Services is a global leader in pharmaceutical development and commercialisation, supporting customers worldwide from early product development through to commercial supply. We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist to join our Packaging Operations team based in Craigavon.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys problem‑solving, working cross‑functionally, and playing a hands‑on role in introducing new products, processes and equipment into a highly regulated environment.

As a Technical Specialist in Packaging Operations, your day‑to‑day work will focus on ensuring new and existing packaging processes run efficiently, compliantly and right‑first‑time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support new product introductions (NPI) and product or SKU changes by planning, testing and qualifying packaging processes.
• Work closely with Packaging Operations, Client Project Teams, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, IT and Client Services to ensure projects transition smoothly into routine production.
• Generate and review technical and GMP documentation, including validation protocols, batch documentation and SOPs.
• Coordinate and execute process trials, qualification and validation activities, analysing results and communicating clear outcomes.
• Act as a technical point of contact for packaging processes, equipment and serialisation, including supporting client meetings, audits and visits where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve process performance, investigating deviations and supporting CAPA and change control activities.
• Support and train production teams to ensure new or amended processes are fully understood and embedded.

What You Need To Be Successful

The ideal candidate will have experience undertaking technical activities or experiments, experience interpreting data and clearly summarising outcomes, alongside a sound understanding of technical documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential as is the ability to produce accurate, high‑quality documentation.
