Almac Group in Craigavon, United Kingdom, is seeking a Technical Specialist to join Packaging Operations. This full-time, permanent role offers a 37.5-hour week (Mon-Fri, flexitime) within a highly regulated environment and supports new product introductions, changes, and quality-compliant packaging processes.

• Act as a technical point of contact for packaging processes, equipment and serialisation, including client meetings and audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve process performance, investigate deviations and support CAPA and change control.
• Support and train production teams to ensure new or amended processes are fully understood.

The Opportunity

Almac Pharma Services is a global leader in pharmaceutical development and commercialisation, supporting customers worldwide from early product development through to commercial supply. We are currently seeking a Technical Specialist to join our Packaging Operations team based in Craigavon.

This is an exciting opportunity for a technically minded professional who enjoys problem‑solving, working cross‑functionally, and playing a hands‑on role in introducing new products, processes and equipment into a highly regulated environment.

As a Technical Specialist in Packaging Operations, your day‑to‑day work will focus on ensuring new and existing packaging processes run efficiently, compliantly and right‑first‑time.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support new product introductions (NPI) and product or SKU changes by planning, testing and qualifying packaging processes.
• Work closely with Packaging Operations, Client Project Teams, Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, IT and Client Services to ensure projects transition smoothly into routine production.
• Generate and review technical and GMP documentation, including validation protocols, batch documentation and SOPs.
• Coordinate and execute process trials, qualification and validation activities, analysing results and communicating clear outcomes.
• Act as a technical point of contact for packaging processes, equipment and serialisation, including supporting client meetings, audits and visits where required.
• Identify opportunities to improve process performance, investigating deviations and supporting CAPA and change control activities.
• Support and train production teams to ensure new or amended processes are fully understood and embedded.

What you need to be successful

The ideal candidate will have experience undertaking technical activities or experiments, experience interpreting data and clearly summarising outcomes, alongside a sound understanding of technical documentation. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential as is the ability to produce accurate, high‑quality documentation.
