Job summary

Randstad CPE is seeking an Operations / Facilities Manager (Electrical Bias) for a permanent, full-time role in Kirkcaldy. You will lead hard services delivery, manage site personnel, and drive lifecycle maintenance, energy initiatives, and compliance across the contract.

The role requires an electrical qualification or HNC/HND, 5+ years post-qualification experience, strong IT and CAFM proficiency, and a UK driving licence.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND in Electrical or fully qualified Electrician with recognized electrical trade qualifications.
• Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in hard services or facilities management.
• Proven background in hard services delivery, building maintenance or engineering operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CAFM systems.
• Full UK Driving Licence and clean Disclosure Scotland vetting.

Responsibilities

• Lead site personnel management and HR matters, including performance reviews and training compliance.
• Coordinate operational delivery with the central Service Desk and plan workforce needs.
• Maintain Local Operating Procedures and site documentation to reflect changes in legislation and best practice.
• Manage contract budgets and financial forecasts to meet target margins.
• Prepare monthly client reports and drive energy management initiatives with the Energy Manager.
• Oversee lifecycle maintenance programs and additional works from inception to completion.
• Promote a positive safety culture and support colleagues across electrical bias responsibilities.
• Participate in the On-Call Managers rotation.

About the Role

Are you a qualified Electrical Manager looking to lead hard services delivery on a key contract? We are seeking a proactive and experienced Operations / Facilities Manager (Electrical Bias) to join our team in Kirkcaldy.

In this role, you will take ownership of site personnel management, technical and lifecycle maintenance programs, financial control, and operational compliance. Working closely with central service teams, you will ensure seamless operational delivery while maintaining Good Industry Standards and meeting all legislative regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Team & HR Management: Lead and support direct site personnel, managing all HR matters, performance reviews, personal development plans, and training compliance.
• Operational Delivery: Interface with the central Service Desk for workforce planning, jeopardy management, and efficient daily operational delivery.
• Compliance & Best Practice: Keep Local Operating Procedures (LOPs) and site documentation updated in line with legislative changes, legal guidance, and industry best practice.
• Financial & Contractual Control: Manage contract budgets and financial forecasts to ensure successful delivery against target margins.
• Reporting & Energy Initiatives: Produce required monthly client reports on time and lead energy management initiatives across the contract in liaison with the central Energy Manager.
• Lifecycle & Works: Oversee lifecycle maintenance programs and additional works projects from inception to completion.
• Culture & Safety: Drive an inclusive, positive workplace culture adhering to company Ethics, Diversity & Inclusion policies, while supporting colleagues beyond electrical bias when needed.
• On-Call Support: Participate in the \"On-Call Managers\" rotation schedule.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Qualifications: HNC/HND in an Electrical discipline, or fully qualified Electrician status with recognized electrical trade qualifications.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years post-qualification experience in a similar hard services or facilities management role.
• Technical Knowledge: Proven background in hard services delivery, building maintenance, or engineering operations environments.
• Systems & IT: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and CAFM (Computer-Aided Facility Management) systems.
• Vetting & Drivers Licence: Full UK Driving Licence and clean Disclosure Scotland vetting.
• Soft Skills: Strong leadership, effective communication, sound financial acumen, and a flexible, adaptable approach to site needs.
