Job Description:

Oaklands Global are currently recruiting a Technical Services Engineer on behalf of one of our leading aviation clients based in Southeast England. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional to play a key role in managing quotes, developing work packs, providing maintenance support, handling administrative responsibilities, and contributing to the strategic execution of projects.

This position reports directly to the Head of Technical Services and will act as their deputy when required. The role involves a combination of operational oversight, technical coordination, and project leadership to support the efficient delivery of aircraft maintenance services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure the timely generation of accurate maintenance quotations.
  • Oversee the creation of work orders (WOs) and work packs prior to aircraft maintenance events.
  • Raise preload material demands in a timely manner, coordinating closely with the Stores team.
  • Ensure the administrative closure of work packs (WOs) and their return to the customer.
  • Lead strategic and operational projects to drive continuous improvement and increase efficiency.
  • Support the planning process by identifying key milestones and critical path items in the maintenance workflow.
  • Provide technical assistance to the maintenance team and act as the primary interface with OEM technical representatives.
  • Promote warranty programs and liaise with OEMs to ensure customer requirements are fully addressed.
  • Ensure accurate recording, documentation, and archiving of all maintenance records.
  • Maintain up-to-date tracking of maintenance activities within CAMP or other applicable systems.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Department to support customer service interactions.
  • Maintain a professional appearance, dressed in accordance with company and customer expectations.
  • Comply with all company Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) standards and policies.
  • Deliver strategic initiatives as directed by the Head of Technical Services.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and continuous improvement investigations to minimise quality issues and reduce the Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ).
  • Attend meetings and represent the Technical Services team as required.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as requested by the Head of Technical Services or senior management.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working within EASA Part-M and Part-145 organisations.
  • Experience in communicating professionally with customers, including HNWIs.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Quick to adapt to and learn new technologies, software, and systems.
  • Demonstrates a methodical, structured approach to tasks and responsibilities.
  • Strong understanding of customer expectations and a commitment to exceeding them.
  • Practical knowledge of aircraft maintenance tracking and planning systems.
  • Highly motivated with a strong sense of drive and initiative.
  • Effective planner with a strong emphasis on safety, precision, and quality.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Flexible and capable of managing shifting priorities and varying workloads.
  • In-depth understanding of Part-M and Part-145 regulations, including Maintenance Organisation Exposition (MOE) requirements.
  • Advanced knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Thorough understanding of Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) practices and compliance standards.
  • Familiarity with leadership techniques, human performance principles, and human factors.
  • Understanding of logistics and supply chain processes relevant to aviation maintenance.
  • Awareness of organisational capabilities, privileges, and limitations within a regulated maintenance environment.
  • Detailed knowledge of occurrence reporting systems (both mandatory and internal), and the importance of accurate reporting of incidents, defects, or incorrect maintenance data.
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and the principles of a Just Culture.
  • Strong understanding of professional integrity and the behaviours that underpin a safety-first culture.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of continuing airworthiness requirements for aircraft and components.
  • Awareness of personal performance limitations and authorisation boundaries.
  • Ability to interpret and action work orders, maintenance documentation, and applicable technical data.
  • Skilled in identifying and planning critical maintenance tasks.
  • Capable of confirming the correct completion of maintenance tasks to the required standard.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage and prioritise workloads effectively, escalating discrepancies as necessary.
  • Competent in compiling, reviewing, and controlling completed work cards and maintenance records.
  • Promotes and upholds the organisation’s safety policies and values.
  • Considers human performance factors and limitations in all aspects of task execution.
  • Confident using IT systems to support operational and maintenance activities.
