Job summary

Ford and Slater are one of the UK’s largest DAF Truck dealers group with 16 locations from Norwich to Birtley in the North East, employing over 900 staff whilst remaining a family run business. We currently have a vacancy for a Technical Service Advisor at our Birtley depot.

As a Technical Service Advisor, we can offer you a salary of up to £30,000 with DAF Academy Training, 22 days holiday (rising with service), employee benefits, pension and a cycle to work scheme.

Qualifications

• Experience in commercial vehicle or motor trade as advisor or similar role.
• Passion for trucks or knowledge of truck parts.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair scheduling preferred but not essential.
• Customer-focused with excellent communication.
• Ability to multitask and work under pressure.
• DMS system experience would be an advantage.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing service bookings on day-to-day basis, ensuring efficient workshop loading.
• Complete service estimates accurately, clearly, and quickly.
• Keep customers up to date with costs, progress and authorisations.
• Prepare job cards & raise invoices.

Who are we looking for as a Technical Service Advisor:

• You will have previous experience working within the commercial vehicle, motor trade or an associated sector as a Technical Service Advisor or in a similar role.
• Or have a passion for trucks and know your truck / trailer parts.
• Knowledge of vehicle repair scheduling preferred but not essential.
• A customer focused individual with excellent communication skills.
• The ability to multitask and work well under pressure.
• PC Literate (DMS system experience would be an advantage).
• Full UK driving licence.

The Technical Service Advisor role / responsibilities include (but not limited to):

Working: 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 6:30pm.

Plus 1 in 3 Saturday morning’s.
