Job summary

Bensons for Beds is seeking a commercially minded Technical SEO Specialist to own the technical foundations across bensonsforbeds.co.uk, stores subdomain and eve Sleep. You’ll prioritise work by the organic traffic and revenue it can unlock, working with Digital Product, Development and Ops to ensure SEO success.

You’ll partner with the Senior SEO & AI Lead and drive technical audits, structured data and AI accessibility while managing local SEO and reporting.

Qualifications

• 2-3+ years hands-on technical SEO experience on large ecommerce or retail sites.
• Strong knowledge of crawling, indexation, redirects, migrations and structured data.
• Experience with Lumar, Google Search Console and GA4.
• Experience writing dev tickets with clear acceptance criteria.
• Ability to prioritise by commercial impact and explain issues to non-tech stakeholders.
• Familiarity with log file analysis, AI crawlers and Core Web Vitals.

Responsibilities

• Own the technical SEO roadmap prioritised by incremental traffic and revenue.
• Run technical audits and turn findings into development tickets.
• Manage crawling, indexation, sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicals, redirects and migrations.
• Partner with Development so releases are SEO-safe with tested go-live.
• Own structured data and AI accessibility so content is readable by AI crawlers.
• Set up alerts and resolve issues to protect organic performance.
• Jointly manage local SEO including Google Business Profile and Apple Business Connect via Yext.
• Provide forecasts, effort sizing and commentary for SEO reporting.

Technical SEO Specialist

Location: The Globe - Accrington
Contract: Permanent – Full time
Salary: £40,000 per annum

We're looking for a commercially minded Technical SEO Specialist to make Bensons for Beds technically capable of winning in organic and AI-powered search (Google, AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Gemini). You'll own the technical foundations across bensonsforbeds.co.uk, stores subdomain and eve Sleep: crawling, indexation, rendering, structured data, local SEO and AI accessibility. You'll prioritise work by the organic traffic and revenue it can unlock. Working day to day with Digital Product, Development, Digital Trading and Ops, you'll partner closely with our Senior SEO & AI Lead. They set what we should win in search, and you make sure we're technically capable of winning it.

What You'll Be Doing

• Owning the technical SEO roadmap across our websites, prioritised by incremental organic traffic and revenue opportunity.

• Running technical audits and turning findings into clear, commercially prioritised development tickets.

• Managing crawling, indexation, sitemaps, robots.txt, canonicals, redirects and site migrations.

• Partnering with Development so every release is SEO-safe: briefing requirements, testing in staging and checking after go-live.

• Owning structured data and AI accessibility so our content is readable by AI crawlers.

• Setting up alerts and resolving technical issues quickly to protect organic performance.

• Jointly managing local SEO, including Google Business Profile and Apple Business Connect via Yext.

• Providing technical forecasts, effort sizing and commentary for SEO reporting and business cases.

What We're Looking For

• 2-3+ years' hands-on technical SEO experience, ideally on a large ecommerce or retail site, or in an agency environment.

• Strong knowledge of crawling, indexation, JavaScript rendering, redirects, migrations and structured data.

• Hands-on experience with Lumar, or similar, plus Google Search Console and GA4.

• Experience working in agile sprints and writing dev tickets with clear acceptance criteria.

• Able to prioritise by commercial impact and explain technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

• Comfortable with log file analysis, AI crawler and AI search optimisation, Core Web Vitals, SEO testing,

• Yext or SEMrush experience desirable
