Technical Sales Promoter - South East UK

Since 1858, our company has been producing quality paint products, serving millions of customers across the Industry, Refinish, Decorative, Yachting, and Habitat sectors, under five brands. With over 150 years of experience, approximately 600 employees contribute to research, development, production, and marketing, as well as user training. The company operates 3 production sites, five subsidiaries, and distributes products in over 65 countries worldwide.

We are seeking a TECHNICAL SALES PROMOTER for the UK market to train, sell, and support our REFINISH BUSINESS. The role involves collaborating with Regional Sales Managers to provide technical support through end-user and distributor training and technical sales.

The successful candidate will report to the Technical and Training Manager and join a team of 4 field technicians.

Key responsibilities include:

• Travel to customer/distributor sites to resolve problems, coordinate projects, or implement technologies
• Train painters on new installations at customer facilities
• Troubleshoot technical issues on-line and on-site
• Advise customers on product changes and improvements
• Train customers on product knowledge and application methods
• Handle customer complaints within authority limits and manage resolutions
• Promote system benefits, process efficiency, and new products to distributor staff and end users in bodyshops
• Maintain contact with laboratories on current technical issues
• Support laboratory evaluations of samples as needed
• Provide accurate technical information to technicians, chemists/engineers, customers, and other groups
• Communicate competitive intelligence, new products, and sales issues to the organization
• Support specification and product recommendation approval processes
• Assist customers in preparing coating specifications for product applications
• Contribute to the territory market development plan
• Identify potential problems and collaborate with managers to resolve them
• Develop and implement solutions related to projects in collaboration with managers
• Attend coatings seminars and trade shows
• Assist customers with inventory control and re-ordering

Skills and Experience:

Experienced refinish painter with a background in technical and/or training roles within a paint company or distributor, preferably field-based.

Must have excellent communication skills, be problem-solving, highly flexible, and willing to travel.

Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office.

FULL UK DRIVING LICENCE IS MANDATORY
