Job summary

Marshall Harmony in the United Kingdom is seeking a Technical Sales Manager who can blend technical knowledge with commercial acumen to drive engineered solutions across aerospace, defence, power and oil sectors.

You will lead eight-strong teams, nurture key customer relationships, support quotations, and collaborate daily with production, quality, and engineering. Hybrid role: onsite for six months, then flexible, with some international travel.

Position Summary

As a Technical Sales Manager, you will bring technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and leadership experience to embed yourself in both boardroom discussions and on the shop floor, guiding customers to the right engineered solutions across sectors such as aerospace, defence, power generation, oil and gas, wind and OEM manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead a team of eight across Key Account Management, Sales Engineering and Sales Administration.
• Maintain close contact with major customer relationships and review long‑term agreements.
• Support complex quotations and assist team members through technical customer discussions.
• Work closely with production, quality and engineering teams on a daily basis.
• Drive team performance against KPIs.
• Represent the company at regular customer visits, exhibitions, and occasional international travel.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Built a career selling bespoke engineered products rather than catalogue items.
• Comfortable reading mechanical drawings.
• Leadership experience with a focus on developing people.
• Enjoys technical conversations with customers.
• Understands KPIs and knows how to lead a team towards them.
• HNC in Mechanical Engineering is useful; an engineering mindset is essential.
• UK national and Security Cleared (due to industry).

Benefits

• Salary £45,000‑£55,000, depending on experience.

• Working hours Monday to Thursday 8:00‑17:00, 1:00 finish on Friday.
• Hybrid working – first six months onsite, then flexible work from home one or two days a week.
