Job summary

Redline Group Ltd is seeking a Technical Sales Engineer to join an electronics manufacturing team in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire. You will drive new business for PCBA and EMS services, work with OEMs and design houses, and provide expert technical guidance throughout the sales cycle.

You will consult with customer engineering teams, deliver compelling technical presentations on soldering and inspection capabilities, and help optimise BOMs and components while supporting revenue growth.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
• Experience in PCBA/EMS sales.
• Understanding of Gerber files, schematics, BOMs and IPC standards.
• Proven ability to close complex sales and negotiate contracts.
• Willingness to travel 20–30%.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new business opportunities with OEMs and electronics design houses requiring PCBA and EMS services.
• Consult with customer engineering teams to understand project requirements, schematics, BOMs and Gerber files.
• Deliver technical presentations showcasing SMT, THT, selective and robotic soldering, and automated optical inspection capabilities.
• Carry out DFM and DFT reviews alongside internal NPI engineers.
• Advise customers on alternative components, material cost optimisation and supply chain challenges.
• Prepare accurate cost estimates, RFQ responses and technical proposals, negotiating contracts and volume pricing.
• Act as the key technical link between customers and internal engineering, production and quality teams while supporting sales territory expansion.

A Technical Sales Engineer is sought to join an innovative electronics manufacturing team in Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, contributing to the growth of PCBA and full-turnkey electronic manufacturing services (EMS).

The Technical Sales Engineer, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, building customer relationships and providing technical guidance throughout the sales process.

Responsibilities include:

• Identify and secure new business opportunities with OEMs and electronics design houses requiring PCBA and EMS services
• Consult with customer engineering teams to understand project requirements, schematics, BOMs and Gerber files
• Deliver technical presentations showcasing SMT, THT, selective and robotic soldering, and automated optical inspection capabilities

The Technical Sales Engineer, Hemel Hempstead, Hertfordshire, will have the following key skills:

• Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent relevant technical experience
• Experience in technical sales, application engineering or account management within PCBA or EMS
• Strong understanding of Gerber files, electronic schematics, BOMs and IPC quality standards, including IPC-A-610
• Proven B2B sales success, with experience managing complex sales cycles, negotiating contracts and achieving revenue targets
• Excellent technical communication and relationship-building skills, with flexibility to travel up to 20-30% of the time
