Technical Sales Manager – Embedded Computing

LOCATION: Field-Based – Midlands / North of England

With a consultative sales approach and a technically capable field team, they remain at the forefront of embedded systems, AI, IoT, and edge computing.

Skills Required for Technical Sales Manager – Embedded Computing

The applicant must possess a British passport due to security clearance requirements

  • Degree-qualified in Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications, or Aerospace Engineering (or related technical/commercial field).
  • Proven success in selling embedded computing systems, platforms, boards, displays, rugged enclosures, and 19” rack-mounted solutions.
  • Experience in design-led sales within industrial automation, IoT, or edge computing environments.
  • Strong understanding of embedded hardware/software systems and their customisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage with engineering, procurement, and executive-level stakeholders.
  • Commercially aware with excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as NetSuite, and experience managing multi-stage technical sales pipelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities within key vertical markets.
  • Manage customer accounts, acting as the main technical sales contact throughout the sales lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with engineering and procurement teams to deliver integrated, bespoke solutions.
  • Align client challenges with embedded technology capabilities through a consultative sales approach.
  • Lead technical and strategic discussions with customers and global suppliers.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records including sales activities, pipeline status, and KPIs.
  • Prepare detailed proposals, lead contract negotiations, and support post-sale activities.
  • Represent the business at industry exhibitions and events, increasing visibility and market presence.
  • Ensure all activities align with health & safety, ISO, and regulatory standards.
