Your position

The primary role of the Technical Sales Engineer is to drive business growth by actively engaging with both new and existing clients, utilising strategies such as networking, cold calling, and other innovative methods to generate interest. Strategic planning is crucial to this role, as it involves developing a robust pipeline of new business opportunities for the company. The Technical Sales Manager/Engineer must craft compelling approaches and pitches that persuade potential clients to partner with the company.

Building and nurturing strong relationships with new clients is essential, setting sales targets and providing ongoing support to ensure Semco Maritime is their preferred choice for solutions and services. Additionally, they are responsible for expanding and maintaining existing accounts by introducing new solutions and services. Collaboration with mid and senior-level management, marketing, and technical teams is necessary, requiring an in-depth understanding of industry trends, the company's offerings, and competitive landscape

Your tasks & responsibilities

As a Technical Sales Engineer you will be responsible for identifying and pursuing potential new clients to grow business opportunities.

Your tasks will include but are not limited to:

  • Expand and develop service provision markets, ensuring comprehensive company offerings.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of Electrical / Systems / Instrument & High Voltage prospects.
  • Introduce new products and services while strengthening existing client relationships.
  • Collaborate with technical staff and internal teams to fulfill customer requirements.
  • Attract prospective clients by growing, maintaining, and leveraging the control system (Siemens) industry.
  • Pinpoint potential clients and markets, identifying decision-makers within organizations.
  • Conduct research to establish and nurture relationships with new clients.
  • Conduct outreach to new and existing contacts.
  • Coordinate meetings between client decision-makers and company project managers and PICs.
  • Collaborate with the team to create proposals addressing client needs, concerns, and objectives.

Your profile & qualifications

We are looking for an outgoing and positive professional who is passionate about the Energy Industry and wants to leave their personal mark on it.

To succeed in this position, we imagine that you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Sales, Business, or a related field. A technical background is highly preferred.
  • Proven experience in technical sales or a similar role, with a strong track record of achieving sales targets.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically about business opportunities.
  • Self-motivated and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry events
