LME Clear Limited is seeking a Technical Regulatory Reporting Analyst in London to support EMIR, MiFID II and SFTR reporting obligations. The role blends regulatory reporting with data analysis, automation and stakeholder collaboration across Regulatory Reporting, Tech and Compliance.

Qualifications

  • Academic qualifications in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years’ experience in regulatory reporting or financial reporting/controls.
  • Experience investigating complex data issues and root-cause analysis.
  • Experience with large datasets, data reconciliations and end-to-end regulatory processes.
  • Knowledge of MiFID, EMIR, SFTR and related reporting requirements.

  • Analyse large datasets to identify data quality issues and control weaknesses.
  • Use Python and other tools to automate processes and reporting.
  • Produce timely MIS and maintain static data.
  • Review and improve reporting procedures and controls.
  • Perform UAT and root-cause analysis of issues across systems.

Technical Regulatory Reporting Analyst

Shift Pattern: Standard 40 Hour Week (United Kingdom)

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40

Reporting Line: (UK Division) Clearing COO

Overall Purpose of Role The Technical Regulatory Reporting Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of LME Clear and LME’s regulatory reporting obligations, covering key regulations such as EMIR, MiFID II and SFTR, whilst contributing to the ongoing enhancement of reporting processes, controls and technology solutions. The role combines operational regulatory reporting responsibilities with technical analysis, data interrogation, automation, testing and business analysis activities. The individual will work closely with Regulatory Reporting, Technology, Compliance, Operations and third-party vendors to investigate reporting issues, improve data quality, support strategic regulatory initiatives and contribute to the development of future reporting solutions. The team works with key stakeholders across the business to manage and rectify any problems that require coordinated efforts.

  • Analyse large regulatory reporting datasets to identify reporting exceptions, data quality issues and control weaknesses
  • Utilise Python and other analytical tools to automate manual processes, controls and management reporting
  • Production of timely and accurate MIS
  • Static data maintenance
  • Maintain procedures for the different reporting services
  • Challenge current practices and procedures and develop and implement new procedures to Enhance the reporting and controls process as necessary
  • Respond to client queries & resolve any issues
  • Review BAU processes on a regular basis with a view to increase automation to create efficiencies within the team
  • Perform UAT as required to ensure any development changes are accurately implemented
  • Perform detailed root cause analysis of reporting issues across multiple systems and data sources
  • Support data lineage analysis to understand and document the flow of data from source systems to regulatory reports
  • Produce meaningful management information and data driven insights to support operational and strategic decision-making
  • Participate in workshops with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation
Person Specification
  • Academic and Professional Qualifications Required A good level of academic achievement is required to A-Level calibre and likely to have a degree (ideal but not essential)
  • Required Knowledge and Level of Experience 5+ years’ experience working within Regulatory Reporting or a related financial reporting or controls environment
  • Experience investigating complex data issues and performing root cause analysis
  • Experience working with large datasets and performing data reconciliations
  • Understanding of the end-to-end transaction lifecycle and regulatory reporting processes
  • Experience supporting change initiatives or process improvement projects
  • Knowledge of Exchange and CCP would be advantageous
  • Knowledge of the regulatory environment and requirements in relation to a Clearing House and Exchange
  • Knowledge of MiFID, EMIR and SFTR would be a strong advantage
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach
  • Working knowledge of SQL, including the ability to query, analyse and validate data from multiple sources
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify data anomalies
  • Advanced Excel skills including data analysis, reconciliation and reporting
  • Ability to interpret data and communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight regulatory deadlines
  • Knowledge of Python for automation, data analysis and process improvement
  • Experience using JIRA, Confluence or similar change management tools
  • Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI
