Senior Analyst, Market Data Governance Shift Pattern: Standard 40 Hour Week (United Kingdom) Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 Corporate Grade: D - Assistant Vice President Reporting Line: (UK Division) Market Data Location: UK-London Worker Type: Permanent Overall purpose of role: The Senior Analyst, Market Data Governance supports and provides cover for the Manager, Market Data Audits & Compliance in overseeing the LME's market data reporting, revenue assurance and compliance activities. The role owns a defined portfolio of reporting controls and reconciliations, delivers risk-based compliance reviews within the agreed programme, and escalates material revenue, licensing and reporting issues. Working with licensees and internal stakeholders, the role ensures that reported market data usage is complete, accurate and consistent with applicable licence terms and policies. It resolves reporting exceptions, validates fees, identifies compliance and revenue risks, and recommends proportionate corrective action. The role also supports the Manager with customer audits and compliance reviews, contributes to improvements in controls, processes and governance tools, and provides clear management information across Market Data, Finance, Legal and HKEX. The LME's Market Data department is responsible for building and implementing the Exchange's data commercialisation strategy, liaising with key stakeholders both internally (within LME, LME Clear and the HKEX) and externally (vendors, members, clients and service providers). The department is responsible for growing revenues through effective multi-channel market engagement, proactive data product development, and responsive client service.

Responsibilities:
  • Own a defined portfolio of market data reporting controls, reconciliations and customer submissions, ensuring that records are complete, accurate and processed within agreed timelines.
  • Act as the subject-matter expert for reporting queries, working with licensees to resolve non-submissions, discrepancies and interpretation issues.
  • Assess reported usage and customer arrangements against applicable licence terms and policies, document exceptions, agree corrective actions and escalation material or recurring breaches.
  • Analyse usage, contractual and billing data to identify anomalies, fee discrepancies and potential revenue leakage, applying an understanding of customer business models.
  • Partner with Finance on fee validation, billing reconciliations, revenue assurance, variance analysis and payment-related enquiries.
  • Support the Manager, Market Data Audits & Compliance in delivering the audit programme and undertake remote and on-site compliance reviews within an agreed scope and timetable.
  • Prepare evidence-based findings and recommendations, track agreed remediation and elevate material revenue, licensing or control issues on a risk-based basis.
  • Produce clear management information on reporting quality, compliance risks, audit activity, remediation and revenue assurance.
  • Maintain and improve reporting processes, controls, systems and governance tools to enhance efficiency, transparency and data quality.
  • Support and provide cover for the Manager, Market Data Audits & Compliance on day-to-day operational matters, including prioritisation of reporting and review activity and escalation of urgent issues.
  • Contribute to wider Market Data operational priorities, cross-functional initiatives and projects as required.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:

Qualifications required: Essential Degree or equivalent relevant professional experience.

Desired Financial Information Associate (FIA) Market Data qualification from FISD Data Licensing Specialist (DLS) Market Data qualification from FISD Knowledge and experience required:

Knowledge and experience required:
  • At least three years’ relevant experience in market-data reporting, licensing, compliance, audit, revenue assurance, vendor governance or a related control function.
  • Experience of market-data licensing, policy or commercial governance, ideally within an exchange, trading venue, data vendor or major financial institution.
  • Understanding of market-data usage categories, derived data concepts, redistribution frameworks, OTC trading and entitlement models.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel capability, including complex reconciliations, data modelling and analysis of large datasets.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience identifying control weaknesses, revenue risks and data-quality issues.
Skills required:
  • Strong commercial awareness and intellectual curiosity.
  • Ability to build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Clear and persuasive written and verbal communication, with the ability to present analysis, findings and recommendations to a range of audiences.
  • Strong numerical literacy, including reconciliations, fee validation, revenue assurance and variance analysis.
