Job summary

Higher Capital is seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee capital expenditure projects within a substantial PBSA portfolio across the UK and Ireland. You will provide technical leadership within the Asset Management team, driving end-to-end project delivery and safeguarding Building Safety compliance.

Qualifications

• MRICS or MCIOB qualification or equivalent experience.
• Background in project management, building surveying or related technical discipline in real estate.
• Strong grasp of procurement and delivery.
• Experience managing teams, consultants and contractors.
• Contract administration, budgeting and cost-control skills.
• Knowledge of Building Safety Act and golden-thread requirements.
• Ability to balance cost, programme, quality and risk across several projects.

Responsibilities

• Deliver capex projects end to end—from feasibility to handover.
• Prepare five-year portfolio maintenance plans.
• Appoint and manage architects, cost consultants, PMs and contractors.
• Control budgets, programmes, invoices and drawdown forecasts.
• Report monthly on progress, cost and risk across multiple schemes.
• Procure and oversee Building Safety Cases.
• Lead responses to Building Safety Regulator queries.
• Support cornerstone golden-thread information upkeep.
• Ensure compliance with Building Safety Act and related requirements.
• Manage latent-defect rectification with external legal teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve building efficiency and reduce operating costs.

About the Company

We are partnering with one of the UK's leading asset managers and investors in student accommodation UK to appoint a Technical Project Manager.

About the Role

Sitting within the Asset Management team, you will oversee capital expenditure projects and provide technical leadership across a substantial PBSA portfolio spanning the UK and Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Delivering capex projects end to end — from feasibility and design through construction, practical completion and handover
• Preparing five-year portfolio maintenance plans
• Appointing and managing architects, cost consultants, project managers and contractors
• Controlling project budgets, programmes, invoices and drawdown forecasts
• Reporting monthly on progress, cost and risk across multiple schemes
• Procuring and overseeing the preparation of Building Safety Cases
• Leading responses to Building Safety Regulator queries
• Supporting the completion and upkeep of golden-thread information
• Ensuring compliance with the Building Safety Act and wider technical requirements
• Managing latent-defect rectification, including liaison with external legal teams
• Identifying opportunities to improve building efficiency and reduce operating costs

Qualifications

• A relevant qualification such as MRICS or MCIOB, or equivalent experience

• A strong grasp of project procurement and delivery
• Proven experience managing professional teams, consultants and contractors
• Sharp contract administration, budgeting and cost-control skills

Pay range and compensation package

£80,000 + discretionary bonus & benefits
