Job summary

Peregrine is seeking a highly organised Technical Project Manager to support embedded software and engineering programmes in Christchurch. You’ll oversee governance and delivery reporting, using Jira as the primary delivery tool to ensure accurate status across multiple workstreams.

You’ll work with Technical Leads and Engineering Managers to promote best practices, drive consistency and provide portfolio-level insights to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Significant experience as a Technical Project Manager, Technical Programme Manager, Delivery Manager or Scrum Master in software or engineering.
• Advanced Jira expertise including dashboards, reporting, workflows, backlog management and epics/story structuring.
• Strong understanding of Agile delivery methodologies and Scrum practices.
• Experience supporting embedded software, firmware, electronics or product engineering teams.
• Analytical skills to interpret delivery data and provide insights.
• Experience delivering portfolio or programme-level reporting to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Jira administration or configuration experience.
• Familiarity with Confluence and engineering portfolio tooling.
• Experience in embedded systems, electronics, safety-critical or regulated environments.
• Experience supporting multiple engineering teams simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Own and coordinate project plans across hardware, firmware and mechanical engineering teams.
• Act as Jira SME, promoting best practice and consistency across teams.
• Develop and maintain Jira dashboards, reports and portfolio metrics.
• Analyse epics, stories, sprint progress and delivery trends for insights.
• Identify delivery risks, blockers and dependencies across multiple programmes.
• Support Agile delivery practices, sprint planning, backlog management and ceremonies.
• Provide portfolio-level reporting and executive summaries to senior stakeholders.
• Drive continuous improvement of project governance and reporting processes.
• Reduce administrative overhead to enable engineering leadership focus.
