Job description

ABOUT ZENOBE

Our goal is to make clean power accessible, to accelerate the shift to zero carbon power and transport.

We’re building and operating the world’s most sophisticated battery systems to enable the uptake of more renewable power and accelerating fleet electrification, de-risking the transition to zero-emission transport at scale. We’ve been consistently innovative since we were founded in 2017, achieving major industry firsts and using proprietary software and data analysis to optimise operational performance for our customers. At the end of their life, we repurpose electric vehicle batteries to provide clean power at depots, on construction sites and film sets.

Today we have 730 MW of grid scale battery storage operational and under construction and are the largest owner and operator of EV buses in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, supporting over 1,000 electric vehicles worldwide. In our first five years we have raised nearly £1.8 billion in funding and have expanded into other markets such as the US. Our rapidly growing company is looking for highly talented and motivated people to join us.

THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking to recruit a Technical Project Manager with experience in the energy market to support the growth of the Network & Infrastructure business, driving the delivery of our SCADA and end-end control solution work packages across some of the most interesting and large scale BESS projects in Europe.

The candidate will bring a good understanding of proposal and project management, have a proven experience in the delivery of technical projects, and have the engineering capability and credibility to manage projects through development and delivery phases. Reporting into the Head of Network Infrastructure Projects, the role integrates with team members in procurement, legal, finance, engineering and construction to build complex, highly optimized SCADA products, backed up by solid contracts. The role includes liaising with third parties and managing contractors and other external stakeholders in addition to internal subject matter experts. It will be a requirement to hit the ground running and to be comfortable operating at a rapid pace to ensure the overall BESS projects have these critical work packages delivered on time and to budget.

The role is flexible in location, but will require occasional travel to and from the project site and the London Head Office.

  • Manage stakeholder expectations and address concerns proactively to keep projects on track.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Troubleshoot technical and operational challenges in collaboration with internal teams and third party vendors.
  • Ensure adherence to industry standards, cybersecurity best practices, and compliance requirements.
  • Oversee the full project lifecycle, from initiation to deployment, including deriving KPIs and completing benefit realisation.
