Job summary

DCS Recruitment is seeking a Product Manager to take technical ownership of a specialist product portfolio within an established high-reliability engineering organisation.

As the Product Authority, you will own product performance, capability and configuration throughout the complete lifecycle, lead development-to-manufacture transitions, support production and customer operations, and drive engineering changes.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Physics or an equivalent discipline.
• Significant experience developing and supporting complex sensor-based or electro-mechanical products.
• Extensive experience supporting technically complex products through manufacture and operational service.
• Proven engineering-change, configuration, obsolescence and production or field-failure investigation experience.
• Customer-facing technical leadership experience within defence or another high-reliability engineering environment.
• Experience with advanced sensing or detection systems.
• Experience with autonomous or remotely operated systems.
• Understanding of defence standards and military product qualification.
• Experience integrating technical products with navigation, autonomy or mission-management systems.

Responsibilities

• Own technical performance, capability, configuration and lifecycle management across the assigned product family.
• Develop the technical roadmap, balancing customer requirements, manufacturing capability, operational support and commercial objectives.
• Lead development-to-manufacture transition, production readiness and technical support for Manufacturing and suppliers.
• Resolve production and field failures, approve engineering changes and manage product configuration, baselines and obsolescence.
• Oversee verification, validation, qualification, factory and integration testing and sea trials, while supporting customers, bids and demonstrations.
