Job summary

Ex-Mil Recruitment Ltd is seeking an experienced Portfolio Product Owner to join a Defence Tech organisation delivering secure software to Defence, Government and security-conscious environments. Permanent role with predominantly remote working and occasional fortnightly travel to the Midlands.

You will sit between customers, engineering and product strategy, translating complex requirements into clear priorities and guiding product evolution in line with operational needs, technology advances

Qualifications

• Experience as Product Owner/Manager in software or tech.
• Proven backlog management with engineering teams in Agile environments.
• Knowledge of cyber security or information assurance.
• Experience in Defence, Government or national security environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
• Existing or achievable SC Security Clearance.
• Ex-Military background welcomed.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage product backlogs translating objectives into requirements.
• Define and communicate Product Goals and delivery objectives across teams.
• Collaborate with engineering on requirements and estimates.
• Own end-to-end product release process from planning to acceptance.
• Develop product delivery plans and updates for senior stakeholders.
• Manage product lifecycles including third-party tech changes.
• Maintain Bills of Materials and current product information.
• Engage with customers to understand needs and gather feedback.
• Champion products via presentations and market materials.
• Align roadmaps with portfolio leadership and business strategy.
