Job summary

Civica is seeking a Technical Product Manager to translate complex business problems into actionable user stories and clear technical requirements. You will guide backlogs, collaborate with engineering, design, marketing and customer success, and help shape product roadmaps that align with Civica’s GovTech goals.

You will work within an Agile environment, participating in ceremonies, ensuring backlog clarity, and prioritising work based on customer value and technical feasibility.

Qualifications

• Experience as Technical Product Manager in a software or product organisation.
• Ability to create and manage backlogs, writing clear user stories with concise acceptance criteria.
• Ability to prioritise features based on customer needs, business goals and technical feasibility.
• Capability to participate in technical discussions, code reviews and architecture decisions.
• Strong analytical skills to collect analyse and interpret data to inform product decisions.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with engineering to ensure solutions meet requirements and are scalable and maintainable.
• Manage product backlogs and refine requirements into clear user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups and retrospectives to align priorities.
• Triaging and resolving product issues with engineering and stakeholders.
• Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies for successful delivery.
• Support trade-off decisions with Product Manager when priorities conflict.
• Work with engineering, design, marketing, sales and customer success to drive development.
• Analyse data and metrics to inform decisions and spot improvement areas.
• Promote knowledge sharing and document product decisions and designs.
