Technical Producer - UK Only (Remote/Hybrid/Brighton), Brighton
We’re FuturLab, the award-winning game studio behind PowerWash Simulator, the Velocity series, Peaky Blinders Mastermind, and many more exciting games.
We are seeking a Technical Producer to oversee our core and technical teams working on PowerWash Simulator 2. The role involves creating and tracking tasks, organizing teams, and ensuring timely delivery of fixes and features for both the base game and updates. The successful candidate will work with a broad project perspective and keep key stakeholders informed on progress.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management & Planning: Collaborate with programmers, designers, and artists to define technical milestones, estimate resources, and prioritize work based on project needs.
- Sprint & Roadmap Coordination: Manage sprint cycles, track tasks, and ensure team alignment on goals and deadlines.
- Technical Pipeline Optimization: Oversee improvements to development pipelines, build processes, and tooling.
- Cross-Team Communication: Act as a liaison between engineering and creative teams, ensuring clear expectations and documentation for technical features.
- Risk Assessment & Problem Solving: Identify technical risks early and work with teams to mitigate potential issues.
- Team Capacity & Resource Management: Monitor team bandwidth, identify skill gaps, and collaborate with leadership to assign appropriate personnel.
- QA & Build Management Support: Ensure smooth build deployments, coordinate with QA, and help maintain game stability.
- Live Ops & Post-Launch Support: Plan patches, updates, and ongoing technical support for PowerWash Simulator 2.
- Stakeholder Reporting: Provide regular updates on technical progress, challenges, and improvements to leadership and team members.
Daily Responsibilities
- Conduct standups, sprint planning, and retrospectives with the tech teams.
- Coordinate with tech leads and the Senior Producer to set realistic timelines.
- Manage Jira to track progress and adjust priorities.
- Communicate technical constraints and solutions with designers and artists.
- Coordinate with QA to ensure build functionality and issue logging.
- Refine development workflows for efficiency.
- Prioritize and manage technical debt to keep production on track.
- Collaborate with external partners or middleware providers as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Technical Producer, Technical Project Manager, or similar role in the games industry.
- Experience shipping multiplatform games (PC, console, mobile) with platform-specific knowledge.
- Success managing live service operations, including content updates and post-launch support.
- Strong technical understanding of game development pipelines, including programming, art, and QA processes.
- Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello).
- Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams to achieve production goals.
- Effective communication skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, Perforce) and build pipelines.
- Hands-on experience with Unity.
- Familiarity with backend services, APIs, and cloud infrastructure relevant to live service games (e.g., AWS, Azure, PlayFab).
- Experience working with external partners or third-party services.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices or release management.
- Understanding of data analytics and telemetry for production decisions.
