Job summary

Molex is seeking a hands-on Technical Operator to join its aerospace manufacturing team in a regulated environment. You will operate Thick Film deposition equipment, interpret engineering drawings, and ensure high-quality outputs in a cleanroom setting.

You will work with digital manufacturing systems, capture production data, and support continuous improvement initiatives while supporting training of colleagues on new equipment and processes.

Qualifications

• Experience operating Thick film deposition equipment or similar advanced manufacturing technologies.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Experience in aerospace/defence/high‑tech production environments.
• Strong technical aptitude with practical engineering skills.
• Experience with precision measuring and inspection equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate Thick Film deposition and related manufacturing equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to strict manufacturing standards.
• Read, interpret and apply engineering drawings and work instructions.
• Assemble aerospace components per specifications and instructions.

Working within a modern and technologically advanced manufacturing environment, you will operate sophisticated equipment, assemble precision-engineered components, and utilise digital manufacturing systems to deliver products that meet the highest industry standards.

The Opportunity

As a Technical Operator, you will be responsible for:

• Thick Film manufacturing equipment.
• adhering to/maintaining the high levels of cleanliness required
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, understanding both component-level requirements and the wider manufacturing process.
• Manufacturing and assembling aerospace components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
• Setting up, adjusting, and monitoring advanced production machinery to achieve quality, productivity, and operational targets.
• Utilising digital manufacturing systems, electronic work instructions, and production software to complete work accurately and efficiently.
• Carrying out routine equipment inspections and first-line fault finding.
• Recording production, quality, and traceability data using electronic manufacturing systems.
• Conducting inspections using precision measuring equipment and quality inspection tools.
• Identifying and reporting non-conformances and supporting corrective actions.
• Contributing to continuous improvement activities and supporting the implementation of new manufacturing technologies.
• Ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards, customer requirements, and aerospace and defence regulations.
• Maintaining a safe, organised, and compliant manufacturing environment.
• Supporting the development of colleagues by training and mentoring team members on new equipment and processes.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on manufacturing professional who combines strong technical capability with a commitment to quality and operational excellence.

• Experience operating Thick film deposition equipment or similar advanced manufacturing technologies
• Proven ability to read and accurately interpret technical and engineering drawings.
• Experience working within a manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, electronics, or other high-technology production environment.
• Strong technical aptitude with excellent practical engineering skills.
• Experience operating manufacturing equipment, machinery, or automated production systems.
• Ability to understand and work from technical specifications, assembly instructions, and engineering documentation.
• Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.
• Good computer literacy and confidence using digital manufacturing systems.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team while following structured manufacturing processes.
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• IPC Certification or relevant assembly/manufacturing qualifications.
• Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
• Previous experience within aerospace, defence, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience training or mentoring colleagues on manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Experience working within a cleanroom environment
