Job summary

HEINEKEN UK Supply Chain in Tadcaster is seeking a Technical Operator to run high-speed brewing lines and ensure product quality. You will perform on-line analysis, manage materials in SAP, and maintain hygiene and safety across the plant. The role suits someone with a lean mindset and proactive ownership of their area.

The team-focused position offers opportunities for development, continuous improvement, and exposure to a wide range of brewing technologies within a leading UK brewer.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Maths & English GCSEs.
  • Good understanding of IT Systems.
  • Previous brewing experience preferred (not essential).
  • Passion to learn!

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain high-speed brewing machinery and automated systems safely and efficiently.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis at key process stages and uphold First Time Right standards.
  • Manage stock levels using SAP and handle materials per recipe specifications.
  • Set up and manage process pipework and routing equipment with high hygiene standards.
  • Identify root causes of deviations or equipment issues and escalate when needed.
  • Collaborate across shift teams to ensure smooth handovers and continuity.
  • Contribute to Zero Accident Culture and TPM improvement.

Salary: £32,770 p/a with shift allowance of £9,373 & amazing benefits below!

Contract: 9 Month Fixed Term Contract

Shift pattern: Panama

About the role

As the Technical Operator, you’ll approach the production line with a lean mindset and positive attitude. We need motivated self-starters who will be proactive in taking ownership of their area.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Operate and maintain high-speed brewing machinery and automated systems safely and efficiently, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the production process.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis at key process stages, delivering First Time Right (FTR) standards and taking swift corrective action when required.
  • Manage stock levels accurately using SAP, and handle raw materials and processing aids in line with recipe specifications.
  • Set up and manage process pipework and routing equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the plant.
  • Use process knowledge to identify root causes of deviations or equipment issues, escalating where necessary and preventing recurrence.
  • Work collaboratively across shift teams to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of production.
  • Actively contribute to our Zero Accident Culture and drive continuous improvement through our Total Productive Management (TPM) programme.

From barley to bar, our Supply Chain produces high-quality beers and ciders, prioritising safety, sustainability and innovation to keep our operations running smoothly.

You’ll be based within the broader brewing team, whose job is to ensure every single drop of our ciders and beers are packed with the consistent, tongue-tantalising taste that we all know and enjoy. The team is also at the centre of ensuring compliance throughout our cider & beer-making process as well as championing our safety principles.

Who we’re looking for

We’re seeking an individual familiarised with working in a production facility or an automated manufacturing environment.

As well as the above, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in Maths & English GCSE’s.
  • Good understanding of IT Systems.
  • Previous brewing experience preferred (not essential).
  • Passion to learn!
