Job summary

HEINEKEN UK is hiring a Technical Operator in Tadcaster to run and optimise high-speed brewing lines with a lean mindset. You will perform lab checks, manage SAP stock, and ensure clean, compliant operations across shifts.

The role requires readiness to work in a production facility, with opportunities to grow through our TPM initiatives and ongoing training; a Panama shift pattern is in place. Applicants should note the closing date and the fixed-term nature of the contract.

Qualifications

  • Maths & English GCSEs are required.
  • Good understanding of IT systems.
  • Brewing experience is preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain high-speed brewing machinery and automated systems safely and efficiently, ensuring quality and consistency.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis at key process stages, delivering First Time Right standards and taking swift corrective action.
  • Manage stock levels using SAP and handle raw materials and processing aids in line with recipe specifications.
  • Set up and manage process pipework and routing equipment, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the plant.
  • Identify root causes of deviations or equipment issues and escalate where necessary to prevent recurrence.
  • Work with shift teams to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of production.
  • Contribute to Zero Accident Culture and drive TPM improvements.

About the role

As the Technical Operator, you’ll approach the production line with a lean mindset and positive attitude. We need motivated self-starters who will be proactive in taking ownership of their area.

Your core responsibilities include:

  • Operate and maintain high-speed brewing machinery and automated systems safely and efficiently, ensuring quality and consistency throughout the production process.
  • Conduct laboratory analysis at key process stages, delivering First Time Right (FTR) standards and taking swift corrective action when required.
  • Manage stock levels accurately using SAP, and handle raw materials and processing aids in line with recipe specifications.
  • Set up and manage process pipework and routing equipment, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across the plant.
  • Use process knowledge to identify root causes of deviations or equipment issues, escalating where necessary and preventing recurrence.
  • Work collaboratively across shift teams to ensure smooth handovers and continuity of production.
  • Actively contribute to our Zero Accident Culture and drive continuous improvement through our Total Productive Management (TPM) programme.
About the team

From barley to bar, our Supply Chain produces high-quality beers and ciders, prioritising safety, sustainability and innovation to keep our operations running smoothly.

You’ll be based within the broader brewing team, whose job is to ensure every single drop of our ciders and beers are packed with the consistent, tongue-tantalising taste that we all know and enjoy. The team is also at the centre of ensuring compliance throughout our cider & beer-making process as well as championing our safety principles.

Who we’re looking for

We’re seeking an individual familiarised with working in a production facility or an automated manufacturing environment.

As well as the above, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Qualifications in Maths & English GCSE’s.
  • Good understanding of IT Systems.
  • Previous brewing experience preferred (not essential).
  • Passion to learn!
