Job description

Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Fixed-term contract positions available.

This is a great opportunity to join our team and continue our work at the condiments manufacturing facility in Peterborough, UK. Our vision is to build a sustainable, innovative factory-of-the-future to support our Flavour Solutions customers.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Operate processing and packing equipment with a manufacturing recipe management system, batch cards, recipe sheets, SOPs, and standard work instructions.
  2. Inspect and maintain safety (LOTO) and quality (HACCP / GMP) parameters and specifications.
  3. Safely execute equipment start-up and shutdown procedures.
  4. Monitor and adjust production processes or equipment for quality and productivity.
  5. Prepare production documents such as batch records, quality records, inventory, and productivity reports.
  6. Adjust key process variables and demonstrate their impact on the finished product.
  7. Perform Autonomous Maintenance activities, including cleaning, inspection, and lubrication of equipment.
  8. Detect equipment abnormalities and implement improvements to prevent deterioration.
  9. Maintain equipment performance by understanding its structure and functions, and diagnose issues.
  10. Troubleshoot basic mechanical and electrical control systems.
  11. Work independently or in a team, using problem-solving tools (RCA, 5 Why) to identify root causes and improve processes.
  12. Ensure compliance with Company Quality, Food Safety, Health & Safety, and Environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
  • Experience in manufacturing or production roles; food and drinks manufacturing preferred.
  • Good literacy and numeracy skills (English & Maths GCSE or equivalent).
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Understanding of quality values and brand image.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Flexible approach to work.
  • Positive attitude and team player.
