YOUR DAY-TO-DAY ROLE
At the heart of our business, you will lead our Mechanical and Bodyshop teams, driving safe, efficient, and high-quality repair and maintenance operations. You will manage workshop performance, develop skilled technicians, and ensure exceptional standards of quality, productivity, and customer service are consistently achieved.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead and develop Mechanical and Bodyshop teams to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality operations.
- Oversee daily workshop performance, ensuring productivity, quality, and customer targets are achieved.
- Drive continuous improvement, introducing best practices and technical innovations.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety, quality, and ISO standards.
- Manage departmental resources, budgets, equipment, and supplier relationships.
- Monitor performance, analyse key metrics, and drive operational excellence through effective reporting.
YOUR PROFILE
Education,skills and experience
We're looking for a strong technical leader with a proven track record in automotive workshop operations and team management. You will have:
- City & Guilds, NVQ Level 3, or equivalent qualification in Automotive Mechanics, Vehicle Maintenance, or Repair.
- Proven experience managing mechanical repair and workshop operations within the automotive industry.
- Strong technical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, diagnostics, repair processes, and quality standards.
- Experience leading, coaching, and developing high-performing workshop teams.
- Sound knowledge of Health & Safety legislation and compliance within a workshop environment.
- Experience with Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and business management systems.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards would be advantageous.

- Excellent organisational skills, including workflow planning, resource allocation, and capacity management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify efficiencies and improve operational performance.
- Excellent communication, planning, and stakeholder management skills, with a focus on delivering high levels of quality, safety, and customer service.
