Job Description
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated graduate with a BSc in Environmental Health with Professional Practice from the University of the West of Scotland. The candidate should be due to sit their professional examination for the REHIS Diploma in Environmental Health in October 2025.
The role involves working within both the Business Regulation and Public Health teams, contributing independently to the delivery of the Environmental Health service in Glasgow.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to apply for an Environmental Health Officer position within the council upon obtaining the Diploma in Environmental Health.
Essential qualifications include a Degree in Environmental Health with Professional Practice, a flexible approach to work, IT skills, and a working knowledge of the role of an Environmental Health Officer within a local authority setting.
The Council offers a hybrid working pilot (home/office), excellent work/life balance, flexi-time and flexible working hours, and membership of the Local Government pension scheme.
This is a temporary position up to March 2026.
