Job summary

East Herts District Council in Hertford is seeking a Technical Officer Environment (Career Graded) based at Wallfields to respond to nuisances such as noise, odour and smoke, and to advise on public health issues. The role involves inspections, investigations, and potential enforcement actions under supervision.

• A relevant qualification or experience within the discipline applied for and a working knowledge of the legislation and regulations relating to those areas.
• The ability to deal with challenging situations using tact and discretion.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to work without supervision, prioritise work to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written skills, with the ability to write schedules of work, summarise accurately and convey complex information.

Salary: £38009 - £44804 Grade 7-8 (inclusive of local weighting)
