Technical Motor Underwriter - Salary is Competitive

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Technical Motor Underwriter to be part of the UK Commercial Solutions Team, supporting our trading teams to develop and implement solutions for complex cases and risk profiles.

This role is ideal for someone with high underwriting authority seeking to expand their knowledge and segment specialisms, developing market-leading propositions and solutions for individual cases and business blocks, in close collaboration with the Trading and Broker Performance Team.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Assist with underwriting strategy, principles, best practices, and processes.
2. Lead the development of open market propositions for the Mid-Market segment.
3. Develop and lead a strong Commercial Motor Underwriting capability across trading teams.
4. Monitor and analyze the performance of the Mid Market Commercial Motor Segment to support SME planning and performance, linking to the CUO Team.
5. Build expertise and knowledge across the Commercial Motor Sector.

Skills and experience required:

1. Experienced Commercial Motor Underwriter with high underwriting authority, eager to develop further in Property and Liability classes alongside Commercial Motor underwriting expertise.
2. Understanding of performance issues at the segment level for Mid-Market, Scheme, and Small Commercial Business, with the ability to identify opportunities and threats.
3. Strong commercial acumen to build and present business cases.
4. Proven leadership and mentoring skills within a large organization.
5. Good knowledge of risk management applicable to the Commercial Motor Segment.
