Workshop Recruitment is seeking a Technical Manager for Refrigeration & Air Conditioning in the South East. The role blends office and field duties, providing technical leadership while mentoring engineers and apprentices.

You will ensure safety, quality and compliance while supporting ongoing business growth. You will lead on faults, design, surveys and tenders, manage budgets, oversee RAMS and F-Gas compliance, and work with JobLogic to plan maintenance and projects.

Qualifications

• 7+ years' commercial AC/refrigeration engineering experience.
• 2+ years' experience supervising or leading engineers.
• F-Gas Category 1 and NVQ Level 3 Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, or equivalent.
• Strong fault-finding experience across split, VRF/VRV and heat pump systems.
• Proven chiller experience, including scroll, screw or water-cooled systems.
• SSSTS/SMSTS, IOSH Managing Safely and TM44/energy assessment experience.
• Strong communication, organisation and commercial awareness.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience using job management software; JobLogic experience is advantageous.

Responsabilités

• Lead, motivate and supervise engineers and apprentices.
• Provide senior technical support on complex faults, commissioning and system design.
• Carry out site surveys, technical scopes and equipment selections.
• Oversee F-Gas compliance, RAMS, safety audits and quality standards.
• Support REFCOM Elite requirements and maintain audit‑ready records.
• Plan PPM, reactive and project work with the office team using JobLogic.
• Support tenders, technical method statements and client meetings.
• Monitor job costs, identify remedial opportunities and manage technical complaints.
