Job summary

Yolk Recruitment is partnering with a well-established precision engineering business in Plymouth to recruit a Technical Manager. You will lead a small, experienced team, own customer relationships and quotations, and drive quality standards across the manufacturing process.

Qualifications

• Proven track record in technical/operational management within precision engineering or manufacturing SMEs.
• Strong knowledge of machining, welding and fabrication; able to advise customers and support production teams.
• Experience driving lean manufacturing and 5S to improve processes.
• Commercial awareness and ability to work independently across multiple functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage customer accounts, quotations, and act as technical contact for customers.
• Support production activities and processing of orders from enquiry to delivery.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives using lean and 5S methodologies.
• Monitor quality standards and ISO 9001 compliance across the business.
• Collaborate with the General Manager to support day-to-day operations.
