Job summary

Ibstock Plc in Tyne and Wear, at the Throckley factory, is seeking a Technical Manager to lead the technical and quality teams and drive continuous improvement across kiln and dryer operations.

The role requires demonstrable management experience, strong communication, and a focus on safety, environmental, and quality systems. You will coordinate procurement, production data analysis, and product development to meet targets and deliver world-class standards.

Qualifications

• Demonstrable management experience.
• Knowledge of Kiln & Dryer Operations.
• Strong self-motivation; able to meet targets & deadlines.
• Ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the business.
• Strong planning, organisation and procedural implementation.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and data literacy.
• Leadership and team development skills.
• Structured problem solving abilities.

Responsibilities

• Procurement and testing of production materials within defined areas.
• Oversee daily Kiln & Dryer operations.
• Coordinate product development and innovation.
• Manage Factory Quality Assurance system - ISO 9001.
• Ensure Environmental system - ISO 14001 compliance.
• Lead and develop the technical and quality team.
• Apply IMS tools for continuous improvement.
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
• Analyze production data to drive targets and objectives.
• Develop housekeeping standards using the 5S principles.
