Job summary

Deverell Smith Ltd in South London is recruiting a Technical Manager for a major RC frame residential development.

You will lead technical delivery from design through construction on a circa 500-unit scheme, taking ownership early and building the project team, with a focus on regulatory compliance and design coordination. This role requires autonomous leadership and experience with residential developers or Tier 1/2 contractors.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years' experience at Senior Technical Manager / Technical Manager level.
• Strong experience on large-scale residential developments.
• Background with residential developer/client or Tier 1/Tier 2 main contractor.
• Strong understanding of RC frame construction and technical delivery.
• Experience through design development and into construction.
• BSR / Building Safety Act experience is desirable.
• Capable of taking ownership and working autonomously.

Technical Manager - Residential Development

South London | £85,000 - £95,000

I'm currently recruiting for a Technical Manager to join a residential developer on a major scheme in South London.

The project is a large-scale RC frame development of around 500 residential units across multiple blocks. The scheme is currently at Stage 3 design, so this is a great opportunity for someone to come in at an early stage, take ownership of the technical side of the project and see it through to delivery.

You'll be joining at an important point in the development, with responsibility for taking the scheme through the Gateway process, developing the technical strategy, building out the project team and ultimately overseeing the technical delivery of the site.

The role will involve:

• Taking ownership of the technical delivery of a large-scale residential RC frame scheme
• Managing the project through Stage 3 design and into construction
• Leading the Gateway application process and ensuring the project meets all relevant technical and regulatory requirements
• Managing design development, consultants and technical coordination
• Working closely with the wider development, commercial and construction teams
• Helping to build the technical/project team as the scheme progresses
• Providing technical leadership through procurement, mobilisation and delivery
• Identifying and resolving technical issues throughout the project lifecycle

What I'm looking for:

• 3-5 years' experience operating at Senior Technical Manager / Technical Manager level
• Strong experience working on large-scale residential developments
• Background with either a residential developer/client or a Tier 1/Tier 2 main contractor
• Strong understanding of RC frame construction and technical delivery
• Experience working through design development and into construction
• BSR / Building Safety Act experience is highly desirable
• Someone confident taking ownership of a project and working autonomously
