Technical Maintenance Specialist, Suffolk

Our client is seeking a Technical Maintenance Specialist to maintain and repair laboratory instrumentation, ensuring compliance with QMS and ISO 17025 standards.
Responsibilities:
- Optimize maintenance processes and equipment reliability, providing hands-on support for instrument maintenance and repairs.
- Engage in training and development to enhance technical skills.
- Participate in LEAN projects.
- Manage and maintain service maintenance contracts for laboratory equipment and facilities.
- Lead contract renewal negotiations focusing on cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Coordinate with operational and technical teams for preventive maintenance.
- Serve as the main contact for on-site service engineers, ensuring timely repairs and maintenance.
- Oversee engineer arrivals and communicate effectively with service providers.
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, contracts, and LEAN project outcomes.
- Communicate updates on schedules, contracts, and projects across the organization.
- Adhere to Environmental, Health, and Safety standards.
Requirements:
- A degree or equivalent in a scientific or related field.
- Technical experience in an analytical testing laboratory.
- Familiarity with IEC/ISO 17025, ISO 9001, and other ISO standards, along with QMS.
- Experience in fast-paced, high-throughput environments.
- Strong troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of quality KPIs and metrics, with the ability to implement improvements.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Experience in auditing.
