Job summary

Production Futures Limited in the United Kingdom seeks a Technical Lead to oversee the setup and operation of large-scale AV systems for live events, ensuring exceptional customer satisfaction and coordinating with a Technical Supervisor or Manager.

You will configure video control systems, rig LED displays, manage networks, and lead onsite teams while troubleshooting issues in fast-paced environments, all while upholding safety and client relations.

Qualifications

  • Experience configuring and operating large-scale AV systems.
  • Able to configure video switching/control systems (Barco E2/S3).
  • Experience configuring LED screens and control processors.
  • Knowledge of video signal distribution (Lightware, Blackmagic, Birddog).
  • Knowledge of networking for AV (VLAN/IPMX/NDI).
  • Ability to lead a team on installs and derigs.
  • Responsible for setup, operation, and strike of AV equipment.
  • Troubleshoot problems quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Configure video signal distribution systems (Lightware, Blackmagic, Birddog, Decimator Design).
  • Rigging and alignment of multiple projection systems.
  • Configure, build and repair LED screens and control processors (Absen/GLUX/Novastar COEX).
  • Understand network infrastructure and protocols for signal and control (VLAN/IPMX/NDI).
  • Lead a team as HOD on installs and derigs with clear communication.
  • Ensure accurate setup, operation, and breakdown of intermediate AV equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly.

The Technical Lead is responsible for intermediate level set up and operation of small to large-scale audio-visual systems in an event environment while ensuring complete customer satisfaction. This position reports to a Technical Supervisor, Technical Manager, Technical Events Manager or Senior Project Manager subject to function/region.

Key Job Responsibilities
Equipment Operation
  • Configure and setup standard Video Control Switching systems (Barco E2/S3)
  • Understand and configure video signal distribution systems (Lightware, Blackmagic, Birddog, Decimator Design)
  • Rigging and alignment of multiple projection systems utilizing manual adjustment as well as software control
  • Ability to configure, build and repair LED screens and their relative control processors (Absen/GLUX/Novastar COEX)
  • Understanding of network infrastructure and protocols for signal and control (VLAN management/IPMX/NDI etc)
  • Ability to run a team as HOD on installs and derigs, ensuring clear and concise communication and leadership
  • Responsible for accurate and timely setup, operation, and breakdown of intermediate audio-visual equipment.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and resolve problems quickly as they arise.

  • Understands the technical aspects of the job and demonstrates advanced operational ability to troubleshoot and problem solve with equipment and software issues.

  • Anticipates equipment challenges and changes in a timely and professional manner.
  • Understand department planning software, designing systems and schematics for all upcoming projects (Easyjob/Vectorworks/Lucidchart)

  • Understands company processes, follows procedures and completes systems entry and paperwork accurately.
  • Uses the equipment sheets to determine the equipment scheduled for set up and for strike.
  • Interacts with other staff and outside vendors for equipment.

  • Work with clients to finalise invoices.
  • As needed, work within Encore systems and applications
