Akoni Technologies is hiring on behalf of a client who is seeking a highly experienced Lead Software Engineer to drive the technical strategy and development of their digital platforms.

About the Role - Key Skillset Required

• 7+ years of experience in software engineering, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role.
• Proven track record in designing and delivering complex, large-scale web applications and services.
• Strong foundation in both frontend and backend technologies, with deep expertise in modern development practices.
• This role is not just about coding — it requires a seasoned Tech Lead who can take ownership of both high-level architecture and hands-on software delivery.

Technical Proficiency

• Expert in Node.js, React, and frontend architecture patterns.
• Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS, including hands-on experience with services, cloud architecture, and infrastructure as code (CloudFormation or similar).
• Proficiency in containerization (Docker) and orchestration (EKS/ECS).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and observability tools (monitoring, logging, tracing).
• Strong grasp of RESTful API design, security principles, and both SQL and NoSQL databases.

Lead the architecture and performance of digital platforms, guiding development efforts and making strategic technology decisions. Deliver a seamless self-service customer experience and ensure scalable system integration.

Process & Quality Improvement

Set and uphold coding standards and best practices. Drive improvements across CI/CD, testing, and deployment pipelines. Champion automation and introduce tools that boost quality and efficiency.
