Job summary

Teksystems in Sheffield, UK is seeking a Technical Lead to own the engineering delivery for a scalable multi-tenant data integration platform on Google Cloud Platform with Airflow. You will guide architecture, ensure reliability, and drive end-to-end data lineage while mentoring engineers.

You will lead design, CI/CD, and observability improvements, balance rapid delivery with long-term maintainability, and collaborate with product and governance teams in a contract-based role.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Technical Lead / Lead Engineer delivering data engineering or integration platforms in cloud environments.
• Hands-on experience building production-grade ETL/ELT pipelines and orchestration with Apache Airflow.
• Strong Google Cloud Platform expertise: Data services (BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Dataflow) and container platforms (GKE, Cloud Run).
• Solid software engineering foundations: Python, APIs, testing, configuration management, and performance tuning.
• CI/CD and IaC experience (e.g., Terraform).

Responsibilities

• Lead technical roadmap and design for multi-tenant data platform.
• Own platform standards for testing, observability, security and documentation.
• Mentor engineers through code and design reviews.
• Develop robust Airflow-based ETL pipelines and data movement.
• Drive data lineage, quality controls, and operator runbooks.
