Job summary

Civic Recruitment Limited seeks a Lead Developer to drive technical leadership for the NEC Housing and Asset Management ecosystem within a local authority. The role centers on keeping systems stable, secure, and performing across development, testing, and production environments.

You will manage environment configurations, deployments, and data governance, coordinating with NEC suppliers and business teams to ensure robust service delivery and smooth rollback procedures.

Qualifications

• Significant experience configuring and managing NEC Housing and/or Asset Management systems.
• Experience leading technical environments, deployment pipelines, and release management activities.
• Proven experience managing complex IT systems within housing, local government, or public sector environments.
• Evidence of continuous professional development in software development, systems management, or enterprise applications.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical lead and subject matter expert for NEC system configuration and environment management.
• Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot NEC Housing and Asset Management modules.
• Ensure consistent configuration across Development, Test, Pre-Production, Training, and Production environments.
• Monitor system performance, stability, and availability across all environments.
• Manage technical engagement with NEC suppliers, including patches, upgrades, and system enhancements.
• Lead release planning, deployment scheduling, and maintenance activities.
• Coordinate deployment activities across technical and business teams.
• Develop and maintain release management processes and deployment documentation.
• Implement rollback procedures and emergency fixes to minimize service disruption.
• Ensure all releases are thoroughly tested and approved before implementation.
