Job summary

Jora New Zealand seeks a Technical Lead to guide the delivery of a large-scale data processing platform. You will lead technical delivery while staying hands-on with architecture, development, and implementation activities, working with Solution Architects, Data Platform teams, vendors, and stakeholders.

You will shape technical decisions, foster a high-performing DevOps culture, and mentor teams while ensuring quality, security, and governance across Databricks, Spark, and cloud data

Qualifications

• Experience leading DevOps/engineering teams.
• Coaching and developing technical teams.
• Experience with Databricks and cloud-based data platforms (Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Pipelines).
• Designing and implementing ETL/ELT data pipelines.
• Building data models aligned to modern data warehousing concepts.
• Optimising Spark workloads and Databricks workflows.
• CI/CD implementation using common tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub, GitLab).
• Knowledge of Azure Synapse, Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery is a plus.
• BI tools such as Tableau or Power BI.

• Support solution design, architecture, and implementation activities.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, vendors, and project teams.
• Contribute hands-on to development and technical delivery when required.

• Identify, manage, and mitigate technical risks, dependencies, and issues.
• Mentor and coach team members while promoting technical excellence.
