Job summary

Blockchain in London is seeking a Technical Lead, Lending & Savings to steer engineering for two core consumer products—crypto savings and crypto-backed lending. This hands-on leadership role defines architecture, guides a small team, and partners with the Lending & Savings Business Lead to translate product vision into scalable systems.

You will remain close to code, making architectural decisions, mentoring engineers, and ensuring high-quality software.

Qualifications

• Experience building backend systems with Kotlin or Java.
• Experience designing distributed, event-driven systems using Kafka.
• Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL relational design.
• Experience working with Redis or other NoSQL technologies.
• Deep understanding of microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and cloud-native apps.
• Experience with monitoring, observability, incident response, and production operations.
• Demonstrated experience shipping reliable production systems that process financial transactions.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical direction and architecture of the Lending & Savings platform.
• Design scalable, secure, and highly available distributed systems.
• Remain hands-on, contributing production-quality code and reviewing critical changes.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and day-to-day leadership.
• Own the delivery of technical initiatives from design through production.
• Collaborate with Product Design, Treasury, Trading, Risk, Compliance, and Infrastructure to build customer-focused solutions.
