Job summary

Globalpayer is seeking a Technical Lead for Agentic Commerce Engineering to shape a new, secure payments infrastructure for AI agents operating at a global scale. You will lead a greenfield squad, own architecture decisions, and collaborate with internal teams and external partners to deliver reliable, auditable payment flows.

The role requires 8+ years in software engineering, strong cloud experience, and proven technical leadership.

Qualifications

8+ years of software engineering experience with architecture ownership
Strong cloud-native engineering experience on major cloud platforms
Practical understanding of AI-agent systems and safe payment flows
Proven technical leadership including architecture ownership and mentoring
Experience designing API-first platforms with clear contracts and docs

Responsibilities

Lead design and delivery of secure checkout and payment APIs for AI agents
Define platform patterns for identity, authentication, tokenization, and fraud signals
Partner with internal teams and ecosystem participants to shape interoperable approaches
Architect and ship merchant-facing APIs and SDKs with clear contracts and strong DX
Champion developer experience with fast time-to-first-transaction and robust testing
Contribute to API governance and platform standards across the org
Set technical direction for a greenfield squad and mentor engineers
Lead architecture reviews, code reviews and incident learning
Drive recruitment and development of AI-forward engineers
