Shape the technology that shapes the business

My FinTech client are looking for a Tech Lead, they offer a hybrid working model, a very competitive base salary which is flexible dependant upon experience and an excellent positive working culture.

We’re looking for a Tech Lead to set the technical direction across multiple squads, products and domains. This is a senior, high-influence role for someone who loves great engineering and knows how to turn business priorities into scalable, resilient solutions.

The role:

You’ll own the architecture and long-term evolution of products, platforms and services, working shoulder to shoulder with Product, Programme and Engineering leaders. You’ll balance pace of delivery with long-term sustainability, and act as a trusted technical advisor to senior stakeholders.

You’ll:

• Define and evolve the technology roadmap and architecture across multiple domains
• Lead complex technical decisions on initiatives spanning multiple systems and teams
• Drive engineering excellence: quality, security, observability and operational resilience
• Step in on critical incidents and complex technical challenges
• Coach and mentor engineers and technical leads, and help grow future leaders
• Raise standards through communities of practice, technical reviews and architecture forums
• Evaluate emerging technologies and champion modernisation of platforms

What you’ll bring:

• Proven experience defining technology strategy and architecture across multiple products and teams
• Strong full-stack grounding: TypeScript, React, Node.js, Rust and/or Go
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Redis and MongoDB
• Architecture expertise: microservices, event sourcing, serverless
• Docker, Kubernetes and infrastructure as code (AWS CDK, Terraform)
• CI/CD (GitHub Actions, Jenkins) and test automation using TDD
• Experience supporting highly available live production systems, from alerts and logs to incident resolution
• Agile delivery experience (Scrum, Kanban) and the ability to break down complex projects across teams
• Excellent communication, able to explain complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences
• A track record of coaching engineers and helping hire great ones

Even better: cloud-based, everything-as-code architectures, negotiating SLAs/SLOs with stakeholders, helping shape and resource technical teams, and translating commercial objectives into technical strategy.
