Job summary

Understanding Recruitment partners with a GreenTech scale-up in London to hire a hands-on Tech Lead / Principal / Staff Engineer. You will guide engineering squads, shape architecture and mentor engineers across the platform.

We are seeking leaders who can elevate engineering standards, remain technically hands-on, and collaborate across product-driven environments. In-office flexibility includes up to 3 days from home.

Technical Lead - Tech for Good

Hybrid in London - 3 days per week

We’re working with a pioneering GreenTech organisation on a mission to accelerate the transition to sustainable living by delivering smarter, accessible, and cost-effective green energy solutions for electric vehicle charging.

As part of their next phase of growth, they’re looking for a hands-on Tech Lead / Principal / Staff Engineer to guide engineering squads while still being deeply involved in technical delivery. You’ll play a key part in shaping architecture, mentoring engineers, and driving best practices across the platform.

They’re looking for people with experience in:

• Kotlin (or strong Java engineers willing to transition)
• AWS or other major cloud platforms
• Working in modern, product-driven tech environments
• Leading teams while remaining technically hands-on
