Job summary

The University of Brighton is seeking a Technical Instructor to support teaching and research in the School of Architecture, Technology and Engineering at the Moulsecoomb campus. You will manufacture, assemble, install and machine bespoke components, and supervise students in practical sessions within a busy technical team.

Qualifications

• Experience in machine and mechanical assembly, including CNC lathes and milling machines.
• Fabrication knowledge including welding and sheet metalwork.
• Good understanding of Health and Safety regulations.
• Ability to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Ability to work both independently and within a team.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and set up materials, equipment and facilities for practical classes and sessions.
• Operate instrumentation and equipment, providing training and support for students and staff.
• Develop and maintain health and safety documentation and ensure waste disposal compliance.
