Job summary

Airbus in Belfast is seeking a Technical Incoming Inspector to join its precision-focused team onsite. You will perform inspection, documentation and quality tasks on aerospace components, ensuring conformance to drawings and standards.

The role requires an electrical or mechanical apprenticeship with post-apprenticeship experience, and familiarity with quality control. A BPSS+ security clearance is arranged by Airbus, with shift patterns 7am–7pm and a 36-hour week.

Qualifications

• Electrical or mechanical apprenticeship completed with 2+ years post-apprenticeship experience in aerospace or manufacturing.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications; strong communication skills.
• Knowledge of company manufacturing and assembly practices, requirements and standards.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out inspection, quality control and quality assurance functions.
• Ensuring product compliance with design specifications, customer requirements, approving authority requirements and regulations.
• Providing instruction and advice to operators as required.
• Monitoring the Delegated Operator Scheme.
• Working flexibly as part of a team.
• Writing technical reports to highlight drawing, process and tooling anomalies, instigating investigation and corrective action.

Technical Incoming Inspector - Belfast

Location: Belfast (onsite)
Pay Rate: £35.00 per hour PAYE / £46.82 per hour Umbrella
Hours: 36 hours per week over 4.5 days, between 7am-7pm (agreed at business discretion)
IR35 Status: Inside IR35
Security Clearance: BPSS+ (arranged by Airbus Security)

What We're Looking For

Essential

• A completed electrical or mechanical apprenticeship, with a minimum of 2 years' relevant post-apprenticeship experience in an electrical aerospace environment, or a manufacturing/assembly/tooling environment
• Familiarity with quality control requirements
• The ability to interpret drawings and specifications, with strong communication skills
• Knowledge of company manufacturing and assembly practices, requirements and standards

Desirable

• ONC/A levels or equivalent qualification
• Knowledge of 3D metrology
