Job summary

Journey, a Multidimensional Experience Agency in London, seeks a Technical Director to act as senior technical authority on key projects. You will lead technical production, advocate modern SDLC workflows, and manage client technical relationships from inception to delivery.

You will drive architectures, scope, and risk management while mentoring the development team, including freelancers, to deliver robust, immersive solutions across physical, digital, and virtual spaces.

Qualifications

• 10+ years minimum experience in a technical lead or director capacity.
• Delivering 3D applications with Gaussian splatting.
• Thorough understanding of 3D realtime concepts and AI development best practices.
• End-to-end software development lifecycles from design to deployment.
• Specialist knowledge in web technologies, Unity, AR/VR/interactive software, and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities

• Plan, own, and oversee technical project architectures, implementations, and deployments; monitor budgets and deadlines; ensure quality control.
• Lead client & stakeholder management; resolve technical concerns and communicate complex concepts to non-technical teams.
• Assist business development by assessing briefs, presenting technology, and supporting quotes with effort estimates.
• Formulate short- and long-term project strategies; approve technical standards; identify and mitigate risks.
• Oversee subcontractors and partners for hardware/software integration and DevOps.
• Provide line management for developers including freelancers; lead performance reviews and development.
