Within this role you will be responsible for the preparation of drawings, technical data,floorplans, elevations and schematic diagrams as well as creating and managing a CADPortfolio for standard use items as well as helping with the creation of technical specifications and design briefs.

Primary Role - Technical / Delivery

• To draft project drawings in AutoCAD and other drawing software.
• To create AutoCAD Drawings for Designs and technical data
• Prepare all supporting CAD drawings, technical drawings, schedules and schematics
• Help to create full technical documentation for engineers to use on site and for external contractors, clients and other stakeholders where required
• Create CAD blocks and keep CAD library updated to suit various projects
• Lead the Engineering Team in understanding drawings and technical documentation where required.
• Work with the Technical Director to learn and research new technologies and methods to enhance designs and drive efficiency.
• Understand a project fully during handover from the sales brief into the project planning and design phase.
• Follow a project through its life cycle including site visits at various stages to ensure design adhesion and pick up/communicate any amendments in conjunction with the Project Manager.

Responsibilities

• Check and amend drawings for D-Tools Service Orders and Tasks to make sure the
• Engineers have clear instruction and directions on all jobs in advance of site attendance.
• Daily management of various simultaneous projects from start to finish, providing relevant drawings, documentation and all relevant updates.
• Reporting to senior management regularly on project status and engineer progress based on comparability to drawings
• Ensure document and version control is actively managed, to ensure documents can be easily and effectively located.
• Actively engage in development and change by providing solutions and Ideas to resolve deficiencies and Improve efficiency.
• Proficient in AutoCAD for 2D drafting and layout planning
• Familiarity with D-Tools, Visio, or similar AV system design platforms (D-Tools SI most desirable)
• Experience creating schematic diagrams, rack elevations, and technical drawings for AV/IT installations
• Understanding of network infrastructure, IP-based systems, and low-voltage integration
• Awareness of relevant standards such as HDBaseT, HDMI, PoE, KNX, DALI
• Knowledge of Lutron (Residential & Commercial), Crestron, Savant & Control4
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and MEP drawings
• Experience maintaining CAD libraries and drawing templates
• Strong documentation and version control practices
• Advantageous: Knowledge of Revit, SketchUp, Bluebeam & BIM for wider coordination
