Job Description

My client, a manufacturer of bespoke products, is seeking a Technical Design Engineer to join their team in Blackburn on a permanent basis.

Candidate Attributes

• HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ / Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design, Aerospace Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or similar
• 2-5 years of experience in a similar design role
• Experience designing bespoke/precision products and mechanics, in professional, educational, or personal projects
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Inventor, etc.
• Strong theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team

Role Responsibilities

• Using SolidWorks for concept design and technical drawings
• Developing ideas from concept to production
• Liaising with clients and developing solutions
• Collaborating with manufacturing providers
• Creating design documentation and project reports
• Updating 3D models and drawings
• Inputting parts into the MRP system and creating BOMs
• Coordinating with departments to ensure project delivery
• Maintaining technical drawings and documentation
